engage brings the visual arts to thousands of people each year who might otherwise not have the opportunity to make or enjoy art.
Your support for engage will enable us to continue and extend our work, reaching a greater number of people, developing new audiences for the future and strengthening the visual arts sector.

The Visual Roots Youth Advisory Group discuss the exhibition with the Photographer's Gallery Teen Group.Your support will help us to run projects like Visual Roots, an initiative supporting accredited
volunteer placements for vulnerable and hard to reach young people in visual arts venues. In 2008-9 four galleries offered eight vulnerable
young people placements, in 2009-10 a further 12 young people will undertake placements in six galleries.

In 2008-9 Carl spent six months on a placement at the gallery, which works with Wessex Youth Offending Team. In 2009 he received a Gold Arts Award for his work, and since his moderation, has worked for Arts Council England South East. He is now planning to study an Art Foundation course.
Your support, at any level, will allow individuals or groups to directly engage with the visual arts.
- £2,250 would pay for a 6-month accredited volunteer placement for a hard-to-reach young person in a visual arts venue as part of Visual Roots
- £200 would pay for a half-day Area Group meeting disseminating best practice from the Explore programme (2007-9) to gallery staff in working with disabled and deaf people
- £150 would pay for an artist to lead a day-long session for Primary or secondary school children as part of enquire
- £20 would buy materials for a workshop for primary school children in a gallery as part of enquire

engage accepts all major credit and debit cards (except American Express). Payments can be made using PayPal or by telephone on 020 7729 5858.

As a recognised and secure means of taking payments online, we currently accept donations through Paypal. You can make a regular monthly
donation to engage or a single "one-off" donation.

Gift Aid
If you are a UK tax payer, please also take the time to complete a Gift Aid declaration form; the government then adds an additional 28%
for each donation. Donors who paid higher rate of tax, can claim higher rate relief on the payments by entering the donations in the gift
aid box on their self assessment tax return. Donors who receive a form P810 can use this to declare their gift aid payment.
