Message: Call out for case studies – galleries, young people and Arts Award

Has your gallery or museum worked with young people to support Arts Award at any level – Bronze, Silver or Gold?

As a freelancer have you supported Arts Award – as an adviser, mentor or artist?

envision is adding to its web-based resource of case studies to inspire and enable the sector to benefit from each other’s successes, challenges, and good practice.

We are looking for examples of galleries, museums or freelancers which have supported young people and Arts Award – working with schools, youth & community, directly with young people, or in any other way.

If you would be willing to share your experiences via the envision website please can you contact Kirsten.gibbs@virgin.net – many thanks !

Further information:

envision is an engage research programme, supporting galleries to develop youth-friendly practice, policy and spaces, and young people’s involvement in that process. http://www.en-vision.org.uk .

Arts Award is a national qualification (England) that recognises how young people develop as artists, arts practitioners and arts leaders. Young people aged between 11-25 can achieve Arts Awards at levels 1, 2 and 3 on the national qualifications framework. http://www.artsaward.org.uk .

Message: Hi Kirsten
Compton Verney delivered Arts Award Bronze last year through a partnership with Warks County Council over a 5-day summer school. A big learning experience but one we do plan to repeat as it added a real dimension to our work.
I'm doing a short presentation on our experiences for engage council shortly.

Message: Hi Trevelyan,
Delighted to hear this - and it is the learning which we are particularly interested in. I will send you a case study pro forma and we can speak at Council on the 28th.
Thanks to all of the other people who replied direct to me - I've had a good response so far, but still happy to hear from others. The results will be posted on the envision site later this spring and engage will let members know when these are available.
Good wishes, Kirsten
