Watch this Space – Galleries & Schools in Partnership
Watch this Space (WTS) is a funded professional development programme for galleries, teachers, artists and gallery educators in England. It enables them to gain first-hand experience of each other's work to initiate, build and sustain relationships that introduce school students to contemporary art in galleries.
This seminar introduces Watch this Space and discusses Craft Central’s experience of the programme. Craft Central is a pioneering not-for-profit organisation dedicated to building a strong future for craft and design. Through a practical making activity and a gallery educator case study, you will hear Craft Central’s thoughts on partnership development with schools to deliver the curriculum, the benefits to their own professional development and the young people they work with.

Teachers in Partnership is an annual professional development programme which aims to develop relationships between teachers who are keen to explore opportunities to work with art as a teaching and learning resource. Through a combination of INSET and artist-led sessions with students, teachers are supported to develop an innovative arts project, including a visit to the gallery.
