Navigator

Navigator is a new initiative designed to support artists in their professional development, funded through the Paul Hamlyn Foundation programme 'ArtWorks: Developing Practice in Participatory Settings'.

The Navigator Pathfinder is run by:

  • Foundation for Community Dance (lead partner)
  • engage
  • A+, a partnership between a-n and Artquest
  • National Association of Writers in Education
  • Sound Sense

Navigator aims to network knowledge about research, professional development and routes to professional practice. Working with artist employers, government, HE and training providers across the UK, the programme will deliver support and give a collective voice to participatory artists across artforms.

engage will use its networks to help navigate more people to inspiring examples of practice and research, which will include the work of other ArtWorks pathfinders, as well as the findings that arise from our own research and professional development programmes. The project will provide an opportunity to clarify the new and shifting landscapes of workforce and professional development for participatory arts practice.
