Recent years have seen an explosion of Visual Art Festivals and Biennials - according to the Biennial Foundation, over a hundred biennials of contemporary art currently exist globally, with new biennials constantly in development.

What opportunities are offered by this growth in practice? How do artists, educators and local communities engage with and respond to the Festival or Biennial format? An engage Scotland CPD event featuring local and national perspectives on the theme of Working with Schools, with particular reference to the Curriculum for Excellence, drawing on recent gallery and visual arts projects.

Mapping and analysis of training opportunities for teaching artists in Scotland

 

BOP consulting have been appointed to undertake this research and Sarah Yearsley, engage Scotland Coordinator, is representing the visual arts and gallery education sector on the advisory group. Artists from across art form sectors in Scotland will be involved in the research phase.
