Visual Arts Inspiring Learning in Schools
Using the visual arts to deliver Curriculum for Excellence
Learning to look at art helps students master basic critical thinking skills important for success across the curriculum. Using contemporary
art as a starting point for learning is one way to deliver the Curriculum for Excellence. Collaborative work between galleries and schools can
also offer other ways to develop cross-curricular learning and potential to cover the following curriculum areas: expressive arts, health and
wellbeing, languages, mathematics, technologies, religious and moral education, social studies, and sciences.
