The engage International Summer School welcomed experienced educators, visual artists, curators and academics - working in the field of gallery and museum education and engaged visual art practice - to review and develop their practice during a three-day residential course.

This peer-led professional development event represented an opportunity for mid-career or senior colleagues to work together to:
- Reflect on aspects of current practice in gallery and museum education
- Review current research and political agendas
- Learn about international contexts for gallery and museum education
- Network with UK and international colleagues
- Consider the role of artists working with participants

In 2014 the engage Summer School was hosted by Falmouth University in Cornwall from Tuesday 8 to Thursday 10 July. The Summer School programme focused on the theme of ethics and activism in gallery and museum education and the visual arts sector. As well as a stimulating range of peer-led sessions and workshops around the theme, the event included a field trip to galleries and artist-led venues, such as Tate St Ives and Barbara Hepworth Museum and Sculpture Garden
