Mothers Who Make

Thurs 27 Sept, Thurs 25 Oct & Thurs 29 Nov

Informal Networking Event

Mothers Who Make is a peer support group and creative exchange session for mothers who are artists – professional and/or passionate – writers, painters, actors, dancers, filmmakers, photographers; every kind of maker welcome, and every kind of mother. You are invited to join us for the first of our monthly meetings.

Please feel free to bring along your children, of any age, whether they are inside you, beside you or running around the room! There will be some toys available for play/distraction.

Artist Zoe Gardner will attend the first session to tell us how a Mothers Who Make Group in London has supported her and her practice.

Sessions take place on: Thursday 27 September, Thursday 25 October & Thursday 29 November

Session Facilitator: Gaby Lees Community Arts Officer, Barnsley Museums

Gaby is mother to two, now grown up children and attempts to squeeze her own creative practice (collage, photography, poetry) around work, rest and play…

Mothers who Make is a growing national network aimed at supporting mothers who are artists, working in any discipline and at any stage of their careers. It was started by Matilda Leyser in London in 2012 and has rapidly spread across the country, with groups currently having met in over ten different regions.
