Holburne Museum of Art

Originally an 18th century hotel, the museum now houses collections of fine and decorative art made by Sir William Holburne (1793-1874) and includes superb English and Continental silver, porcelain, Italian maiolica, bronzes, glass, furniture, portrait miniatures and old master paintings. The collections have been later enhanced by acquisitions and bequests, particularly of 18th century portraits by Gainsborough, Stubbs, Turner and Ramsay.
