John Buddle Work Village, Buddle Road,

Future Cultural Leaders is an ambitious five year programme for young people and cultural organisations in the North East funded by Big Lottery Fund. It focuses on strong partnerships in Berwick upon Tweed in Northumberland and the Scotswood area of Newcastle upon-Tyne. Young people and cultural organisations work together to develop collaborative creative projects that will benefit young people in their local communities and build sustainable models of best practice for youth engagement across the cultural sector. Future Cultural Leaders provides the opportunity each young person to inspire and establish a team of volunteers to help them deliver their project. Each project aims to engage local young people aged 10 – 15 through volunteering opportunities and creative activity. The programme promotes and celebrates the 2012 Olympic & Paralympics Games and aims to place children and young people at the heart of planning, decision making and delivery of the Cultural Olympiad in the North East.
