Blackburn with Darwen Borough Council Education and Lifelong Learning

We are a local adult and community learning provider. We have been working in partnership with Blackburn Museum and Art Gallery. Recently we held a 'Living Art Event' to encourage learners to participate in a range of learning opportunities in the museum ( digital photogarphy, line dancing, pottery, creative writing, crafts and aromatherapy. An exhibition of learners work from the day is being arranged.
Drumcroon Education Art Centre

Drumcroon provides an invaluable learning experience to pupils visiting the centre with their teachers and offers a unique service to support schools in meeting the requirements of the National Curriculum for Art and Design. The Centre plays an important role in curriculum development in Art and Design both as a gallery and art education centre, a provider of in-service courses and a research resource for teachers and students.Teachers visiting the Centre have the opportunity to develop professional knowledge and understanding of the Art and Design curriculum.

FACT (Foundation for Art and Creative Technology) is UK's leading centre for the presentation, support and development of film, video and new media arts. The £11m building was opened to the public on 22 February 2003 and is the first purpose-built arts project in Liverpool for more than 60 years. FACT is committed to inspiring and promoting creativity through film, video and new and emerging media forms.

Warrington Museum & Art Gallery
Museum Street, Cultural Quarter, Warrington WA1 1JB

Located above Warrington Central Library, Warrington Museum is one of the oldest municipal museums in the country. Much of the quintessential character of the building has been preserved and its original glass cabinets are crammed with treasures from all over the world. Work from acclaimed artists is also on display in the art gallery, and there is a lively programme of events, activities and temporary exhibitions. Admission is free. The Museum is open from 10-4:30 on weekdays and 10-4 on Saturdays (closed Sundays and Bank Holidays). In addition, the Museum's Schools Education Service provides a range of multicultural and Natural History resources suitable for Art/Design work. We welcome visits from schools and colleges and the Education Officers are happy to discuss options and if appropriate provide a creative, practical workshop.
Whitworth Art Gallery

The Whitworth's collection includes an outstanding range of prints and drawings, one of the greatest collections of British watercolours, and exceleent work by modern and contemporary artists. In addition to this, the Whitworth is home to the finest collections of textiles and wallpapers outside the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. The collections have been recognised as nationally significant under the Government's Designation scheme.

Grizedale Arts

Grizedale forest is situated in the heart of the Lake District. Over the last 25 years artist's have been given residencies to work within the forest. We run a succesful education programme for visiting schools, colleges and groups. The forest has over 80 artworks sited within it, with new artworks being added all the time. New work is show cased in one of our festivals that takes place in June, September and December.
