Tuesday 26 September 2017, 13.30 – 16.30

University of Portsmouth

Partnerships between H.E.Is and arts & cultural organisations

- exploring models of working and how we can effectively support one another

Partnerships have long enabled arts organisations and HEIs to deliver ambitious and exciting programmes and projects. Join us for a meeting hosted by the University of Portsmouth to explore different partnership models and ways of working together effectively.

This meeting will include presentations by Dr Ronda Gowland Pryde, Head of Education, John Hansard Gallery who joins us from the perspective of an arts organisation led by the University of Southampton. Ronda will be exploring this relationship in more detail, including the benefits and challenges, drawing on past experiences and also looking forwards to future opportunities as they prepare to move into their new gallery space.

We will also hear from the PONToon project team at the University of Portsmouth, who have successfully raised funds for an EU Interreg project of which Aspex gallery were an invited partner. They will be presenting plans for the project over the coming four years but also their reasons for involving a visual arts organisation and what they feel this adds to the programme.

The session will then provide an opportunity for discussion between all present about how we can effectively support one another.

We would also welcome any 'top tips' or best practice examples from attendees. If anyone would like share a project please do get in contact.
