NEW! Children's Art Week Activity Cards

Discover the world around you through looking, discussing, making and exhibiting

Over 110 events and activities took place across the UK during Children’s Art Week 2017, in

     galleries,

             arts centres and museums,

                at libraries and schools,

heritage sites and community and youth centres and more.

In 2017 we wanted more schools than ever before to take part, and undertook a pilot scheme with Turner Contemporary, Margate and New Walk Museum and Art Gallery, Leicester and Thanet, inspired by another of our successful projects, Generation ART, which is encouraging schools to respond creatively to Children’s Art Week, and exhibit artwork that has been curated and promoted by students themselves.

As part of this Turner Contemporary, Engage, and the Young Art Leaders of Palm Bay Primary created fantastic new Children’s Art Week activity cards, downloadable from the Engage website.

The ‘Inside Outside’ cards explore Looking, Discussing, Making and Exhibiting. With activities for individuals, pairs and groups, follow on ideas for the classroom or at home, and useful resources to explore online, these are designed to help you make the most of your visit to any Children’s Art Week setting, particularly if you are a teacher, educator, parent or carer. Download the activity cards here.

We would love to see how you and the children and young people you are with respond to your Children’s Art Week experience; why not upload photos of your own art and displays with the hashtag #ChildrensArtWeek to Instagram or Twitter?
