Engage at Tate Exchange 2017
An intensive professional development event for gallery and arts educators.
Engage at Tate Exchange was a peer-led professional development event in Tate’s new Switch House building, representing an opportunity for mid-career or senior colleagues to work together over three intensive days to reflect on their practice, review recent research, learn about UK and international contexts and network.
The theme was exchange, in reference to Tim Etchells’ poem on the Tate Exchange website.
Journeys through gallery education and learning
As part of the event there was a facilitated public session on Tuesday 21 March, 4 - 6.00pm for members of the public to find out more about working in gallery education. Delegates contributed to this by speaking briefly about their journeys into gallery education and some of the challenges they faced, sharing practice or leading a surgery for example.
If you would like to volunteer please indicate on the application form.
Tate Exchange, on Level 5 of Tate Modern’s new Switch House building, is a space for everyone to collaborate, test ideas and discover new perspectives on life, through art.
engage was one of 55 Tate Exchange Associates who provided a stimulating programme of exploration into the different ways that art has become active over the last 60 years and how artists have changed our understanding of what art can be an what it can do.
